It is an x-class, not sure how old it is or anything else about the history of it though. After asking around a bit it seems that it is an early boat, so it may be around 70~80 years old. Apparently the early boats had 10 planks to a side, but the later ones only had 9.
I used Canterbury Bulk Freight, through a website called empty trucks. This is definitely recommended if you can. They find trucks which are coming back from their delivery empty and they will take your freight cheaper than usual. This cost me $300 to get from Dunedin to Christchurch - door to door.
The first task today was to take out all the broken framing, galvanised (and mild steel!) screws and bolts and other bits and pieces that needed to be taken out. The boat had been used as a fishing boat before and it still has some fittings for the the engine mounts, prop shaft and things like that.
